The Belmond Hotel Cipriani is a hotel in Venice, northern Italy, one of the most expensive hotels in the world with rates starting at USD $1,400 per night. On May 26, 1958 Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry’s Bar in Venice and inventor of the Bellini cocktail, opened the Hotel Cipriani on the island of Giudecca. In 1976, Orient-Express Hotels was founded with the purchase of Hotel Cipriani.
